Welcome to the personal genealogy website of Chris Ward. These pages give details of genealogical research carried out, and still underway, by myself and other members of my family. At present this includes more than 80 individuals, who lived in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland; with definate links as far back as 1660 and tenuous links as far back as 1200.
This is my genealogy logo:
It represents four generations of a family. It appears at the top right of every page, click it to return to the index page.
You'll also find a menu at the bottom of each page.
- Take a look at the concept behind this website to see why it is different from many other genealogical sites.
- You had 2 parents, 4 grand-parents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents, 32 g3grandparents, 64 g4gparents, . . . . keep going and by the time you get back to the Middle Ages you have more ancestors than there were people in the known world at that time!
Understand why your ancestors are not as numerous as you might think.
- See my family tree in a layout specifically designed for web pages.
- See a chronological listing of events in my family history, definitely as far back as 1675, and possibly as far back as 1509.
- View the lifelines showing when my most recent ancestors lived.
- Check a list of surnames in my ancestry, some with the probable origin of the name.
- View a gallery of photos of my ancestors and some of the places they lived.
- The key explains all the styles and colours used on these pages.
- Contact me if you believe we have any ancestors in common.
- The background image used on my genealogy pages contains photos of my four grandparents, and four of my great-grandparents.
