The song was written for the film First Knight starring Sean Connery, Richard Gere, & Julia Ormond. It tells the story of the love affair between Sir Lancelot and Guinevere. Unfortunately the film makers decided not to use it.
(A pity they didn't decide not to use the telegraph pole, which you can see in the background of the scene where Lancelot is chasing the runaway white horse!)
